Daniel 9:24 NKJV "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.
We understand that this all happened by AD 70 with the destruction of Jerusalem. And we notice that vision and prophecy would be sealed up at this time.
Zechariah 13:1 In that day
there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants
of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Again, a prophecy that there would be no more prophecy. When would this be? When the fountain was "opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness." After that, God would not inspire men again.
Now, a question. If all this was to happen at this time, how could the book of Revelation be written in AD 95? Nobody was inspired at that time. It seems to me that if it WAS written after AD 70, then it is fake—because prophets would have already passed out of the land.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written
may be fulfilled.
We understand that this prophecy of Jesus concerned the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. Jesus said all things that were written would be fulfilled when this destruction came.
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
question: Is that generation still living or has everything that was written at
the time Jesus spoke been fulfilled?
