Consummation of the Ages

John 5:25, "The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live."

(Relate this scripture to this one: "John 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him." Do we have to wait until the "end of time" to worship truly and in spirit and in truth? Of course, I guess some would say THESE dead are dead only spiritually. But this scripture goes on to talk about the dead rising from their graves and being judged. So I don't see how we can differentiate.)

Romans 16:20, "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly." (See Genesis 3:15.)

1 Timothy 6:14, "That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:"  (How could Timothy do this if he was dead? Is he still alive waiting?)

Hebrews 1:1-2, "God…Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son," (The last days were THEN. And in fact in the "last days": "Acts 2:17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" If we are, as some say, still in the last days, why aren't we dreaming dreams and prophesying?)

John 12:31  Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Hebrews 9:26, "For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the consummation of the ages hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." (I'm sure people believe THIS is in the time of the apostles, even though it's the consummation of the ages.)

1 Corinthians 10:11, "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are arrived." (Sometimes that word "ages" is translated "world." And notice that "our" is not you and me but THEM at that time. In fact, KJV says: 1 Corinthians 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  As our dear brother George Howsepian said to me, "The end of the world came and we missed it.")

1 Thessalonians 5:23, "...and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. " (Sounds like Paul wants them to be ALIVE in their BODIES when Christ comes.)

James 5:7-9, "Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. …the coming of the Lord has drawn near…behold, the judge stands before the door." (The judge--to judge--on the judgment day.)

1 Peter 1:9-10, "Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:"

1 Peter 1:13,20, " Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the appearing of Jesus Christ; Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you," (Those were the last times.)

1 Peter 4:5, "Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead."

1 Peter 4:7, "But the end of all things has drawn near:"

Acts 2:16-20, "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days…The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:" (Joel spoke of this time, and now it's coming true, in the last days--their days.)

Acts 3:24, "Yea, and all the prophets…have likewise foretold of these days." (All the prophets spoke of THIS time, not something coming in OUR time.)

1 Peter 4:17, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:"

1 John 2:17-18, "And the world passeth away…Little children, it is the last hour…we know that it is the last hour." ( I have read that John wrote this sometime after 60 AD. Since 70 AD was so near, he could even say it was the last HOUR.)

1 John 3:2, "...when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. "

John 21:22  Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. (How could John tarry till Jesus came if Jesus still hasn't come? Of course, Jesus didn't KNOW when He was coming, but He probably knew it wouldn't be that long so that John could still be alive, just based on prophecy.)

Revelation 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
